QUILT DRAWING

On February 10th, a drawing was held at the T.I.C.A. cat show in Livonia MI  for the quilt pictured below. Linda Thomas of Toledo had her name picked from over 1600 entries.  Paws and Whiskers had been selling tickets for the quilt, crafted by Pam Plunkett, since last September. The raffle was a very successful money making event for PAWS.  Thank you Pam for all your hard work and to all the people who worked at selling tickets. Below Linda is pictured picking up her new quilt at the shelter.

2007 CRAFTING SEASON CLOSES

On December 1st our Krafting for Kitties group completed it's season of craft shows with a very successful sale at Start High School.   This was the fiith year for the crafters at the Start location. Pictured below Pam Plunkett arranges the crafters display prior to the sale opening. Items for sale ranged from lighted glass blocks to dish towels and pet beds to 4 foot tall gingerbread men.  Our crafters attend a dozen or more events each year selling the crafts they have made.  Since all the items and labor is donated 100% of the revenue from these shows go to help our feline friends.  The crafters will start the 2008 season in January at the Mid Michigan cat show January 12th and 13tth then at the TICA show February 8th, 9th, and 10th.

Labor Day Weekend, our crafters were busy at the home of Pam Plunkett, for their annual “Crafting Marathon”. For three days, the crafters painted, glued, cut wood shapes, drilled holes, folded card stock, and sewed hundreds of items into shape for the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas season. Pam Plunkett was joined by Caroline Speaker, Cathy Witker, Emily Betliewicz, Karrie Hayter, Dennis and Dianne Schroder as they created hand crafted treasures during the three day event. .  The funds generated will go a long way in assisting our feline friends. Please remember our crafters when looking for holiday gifts or decorating ideas.
